Varberg Ferry Port | Routes & Destinations 2026

About

Varberg is a town in Halland county on Sweden's west coast, about halfway between Gothenburg and Helsingborg. It has a ferry connection to Grenaa in Denmark, operated by Stena Line, providing a direct link between central Sweden and the Jutland peninsula that avoids the more congested crossings at Helsingborg and Gothenburg. The town is centred around a well-preserved medieval fortress that dominates the waterfront, and the surrounding coastline has good beaches that make Varberg popular with Swedish holidaymakers in summer. The ferry terminal is close to the centre, and the town has a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere year-round. Train connections on the west coast line link Varberg to Gothenburg in about an hour.
