Sassnitz Ferry Port | Routes & Destinations 2026

About

Sassnitz — ferry port at Mukran — is located on the northeastern coast of the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is one of Germany's main Baltic ferry terminals, with routes to Sweden and Lithuania, and handles a significant share of the freight and passenger traffic between Germany and Scandinavia. Rügen itself is Germany's largest island and one of its most popular holiday destinations, connected to the mainland by a road and rail causeway. The chalk cliffs at Jasmund National Park, a short drive from the ferry port, are among the most iconic coastal landscapes in northern Europe. Sassnitz town has a pleasant harbour area and some good fish restaurants. The ferry port at Mukran is a few kilometres from the town centre and well signposted from the main road.
