Ystad Ferry Port | Routes & Destinations 2026

About

Ystad is a coastal town at the southern tip of Sweden's Scania peninsula, with ferry connections to Świnoułście in Poland and to the island of Bornholm in Denmark. The Polish route is operated by Unity Line, making Ystad one of Sweden's main departure points for travellers heading to Poland by sea. The town is well known in Sweden and internationally as the setting for Henning Mankell's Wallander crime novels, and a modest detective tourism industry has grown around the connection. Beyond that, Ystad has a genuinely attractive medieval centre with well-preserved half-timbered buildings and a Franciscan friary dating from the 13th century. The ferry terminal is a short distance from the historic core and the E65 motorway connects the town to Malmö and the Øresund Bridge in under an hour.
